Strider reviews has started somersaulting their way onto the internet, but does this reboot from Double Helix Games do the 1989 original justice? Find out in our review score round-up.

But first; why not check out my final impressions on Strider PS4? I basically found it to be a solid reboot that works wonders with the classic ‘Metroidvania’ template.

Now then, here’s the scores as they come and remember; if you’ve got a number we’ve missed, paste the link below and we’ll add it.

More scores as they come…

Strider is out from February 18 on PC, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One.

    Why they’re not amazing scores, most of them are still pretty great, especially for a Double Helix title. They’ve really stepped up since their earlier titles and instead of crappy games here and there, they’ve provided us with two promising revivals (Killer Instinct and Stryder).

    Double Helix are getting better, KI and Strider are proving they stepped up their game. But they got bought by Amazon.

    @2 Agreed.

    As a long time fan of the original Strider game, I’m always heartened to see that Capcom hasn’t completely forgotten about the character. Glad to see the game is being reasonably well received.

    I’ve always been more of a fan of the Arcade original and Strider 2 rather than the Mega Drive port of the original and both of those games had a tonne of speed.

    Its not something I’m seeing from the new title, in fact it seems more happy to sit about or do a series of puzzle teleporting jump rooms.

    Which is not to say I’m not going to go and buy it as soon as it hits 6pm. I think it looks fantastic, good on Double Helix for creating two good titles. If I was them I would have hung my head at the end of Silent Hill Homecoming and shuffled away from game development never to return.
