David Cage to receive Legion of Honour, France’s highest decoration

Monday, 17th February 2014 14:56 GMT By Sherif Saed

Quantic Dream’s David Cage will receive France’s highest decoration, la Légion d’honneur – or Legion of Honour.

Cage will be the first game developer to receive this decoration.

Cage’s studio, Quantic Dream is responsible for games such as Indigo Prophecy, Heavy Rain and Beyond: Two Souls. All of which come with their degree of controversies and challenges to what a game should and shouldn’t be. A sentiment which Cage has repeatedly expressed.

Thanks, Gamespot

As always, when a person gets a award, its not the jury that has a problem (they selected him), and neither do that person (he is honoured to receive the award). The problem will be to the people who have no hope of ever winning something like that.

It’s disappointing to see that hack decorated when Stephen Fry has yet to be knighted. There is no justice in the world.

@5 What does a French presidential decoration has to do with the British honors system? Maybe you should address your complaint to the Queen of England.

As for the rest of the hateboys, what did he do to you? He makes games. Some people like them, and play them. You don’t? Well, I don’t see him get in the way of whatever games you like to play. You’re a sad bunch of people.
