Blade Arcus from Shining is a 2D beat-em-up entry to the Shining RPG series that sees characters from Shining Blade lock weapons in combat.

The brawlers was announced at the Japan Amusement Expo and features art from Shining series artist Tony Taka. So far; Sakuya and Rage from Shining Blade have been confirmed as playable, along with some new, previously unseen fighters.

We’ll have more on this as it comes. What do you think so far?

It’s odd to see Japan doing this, now, too. I mean, sure, that’s a nice one-on-one fighter and all (and I do like those, especially MvsC 3, which was pretty great), but I don’t see the need to add ‘Shining’ to it? I feel like it lessens it, whereas it could have had its own identity. Moreso because the Shining series had a very different aesthetic character to this.
