MLB 14 The Show dated, screens and trailer show lots of facial hair

MLB 14 The Show will be released on current PlayStation Systems during April and May, Sony has announced.

The baseball title contains 50 new features and improvements, Quick Counts which cut game completion times in half, a new UI, built from the ground up for PS4 and carried across all versions, and year-to-year saves for the next iteration in the series.

It also contains cross-platform saves.

Road to the Show will continue and more on it will be revealed at a later date.

Community Challenges, an expanded Universal Profile, expanded Online Franchises, multi-season play with Scouting, the Amateur Draft, Free Agency, and CPU Trades are all part of the package as well.

Add-on purchases from seasons past have been simplified into a Universal Currency called Stubs and "not one cent needs to be spent on Stubs for users to enjoy a full experience in any of the modes."

Stubs are earned through general gameplay and tied to a player's Universal Profile.

MLB 14 The Show will be launching on April 1 for PS3 and PS Vita, and shortly thereafter in May for PS4.
