Radiohead releases experimental iPhone & Android game PolyFauna

Radiohead – as in Radiohead, the band – has created an iPhone and Android game in collaboration with UK design company Universal Everything. It’s called PolyFauna and it’s out now.

You can download PolyFauna over on the Radiohead website. Front-man Thom Yorke explained that the concept came out the band’s The King of Limbs sessions.

“It comes from an interest in early computer life-experiments and the imagined creatures of our subconscious,” Yorke writes.

The app sees players walking a landscape inspired by the imagery and the sounds from Radiohead’s song Bloom. Players can snap images of what they see and upload them to the band’s site for all to see.

Let us know if you check it out.

Read about this on Pitchfork this morning, seems pretty trippy by the looks of it.
Calling it a game might be somewhat of a strect though.
