Titanfall will have SmartGlass functions on Xbox

Thursday, 6th February 2014 15:58 GMT By Phil Owen

As befits any and all games released on Xbox One and not PlayStation 4, Titanfall will support Microsoft’s SmartGlass second screen smart device app, the game’s Twitter revealed when prompted. It’s unknown at this time what functions it will have, but a map is always a good guess.

Halo 4 uses SmartGlass as a portal to the Halo Waypoint match stats compository, and so something like that would make sense for Titanfall as well. For those who will be ignorign the console versions of Titanfall, we got the game’s PC specs earlier this week.

It would be a nice gimmick to drop your titan anywhere on the map with smartglass. But seriously: A second-screen-device in a fast-paced multiplayer-game. There won’t be enough time to look anywhere else than at the TV :P

@TheKeyPit I don’t think that’s what they’re talking about doing with SmartGlass because you’re absolutely right, while you looking at your TV you can’t be simultaneously looking at SmartGlass. But during matchmaking or between spawns I’d be happy to get tactical information or my team’s overall score on my SmartGlass. Like this, SmartGlass integration aims to complement your TV, not replace it.
