Star Wars: The Old Republic to get 2 new expansions in 2014

Tuesday, 4th February 2014 12:43 GMT By Dave Cook

Star Wars: The Old Republic developer BioWare has confirmed that the MMO will receive two new DLC expansions in 2014.

It comes from this official blog post (which is down as the SWTOR site is currently undergoing maintenance), in which senior producer Bruce Maclean wrote, “Expect to see two digital expansions in 2014 just like you did last year, with one similar to Galactic Starfighter in scope and one more closely resembling Rise of the Hutt Cartel.”

He added that SWTOR will receive new bug-fixes on a three week basis, and should see substantial new updates every nine weeks. New expansions aside, there’s also a range of PVP seasons, dungeons, raids, items and much more on the way too.

Not a surprise really. It’s going to be a VERY challenging year for SWTOR with 2 major MMOs coming out. And after reading that laughable ‘Roadmap’, its just more vagueness with repeat/rinse dull flashpoints.

Hopefully, those long suffering PvP’ers will just give up as despite being promised cross server play back at 1.2 and just ONE new map due for April, that means ground PvP (outside of its cloned WoW Arenas) hasn’t had anything new added for almost 20 months!

After the release of TESO and Wildstar, I will do put my Patcher cap on and predict that this will be totally free to play by Christmas and life support by 2015.
