PS4, PS3, Vita wireless headset briefly listed by retailers

An official Sony wireless headset for PlayStation 3, PS4 and Vita was temporarily listed by a couple of retailers, apparently outing this unannounced peripheral.

According to Geek, the headset was listed on both PlyAsia and BestBuy, although only the latter has public page still available. Both retailers have since made the product unavailable.

According to details harvested before the listing was yanked, the Gold Wireless Stereo Headset is priced at $130 and due in February.

It boasts 7.1 surround sound. Controls are arranged along one earmuff, and the frame collapses for easy transport.

Currently, the PS4 does not support generic wireless headsets, although we’re hoping for a firmware update enabling this in the future, and it does handle PS3 headsets.

Thanks, Shack News.

Oh I remember the Gigahurtz fiasco/debate. Anyway was he right along btw? Does the Xbox1 controller really output 7.1? If im not mistaken thats either DD True HD or DTS HD.

The Sony Pulse Elite Edition looks better than these. Unless there’s an upgrade (like actual 7.1 instead of simulated) or true Bluetooth wireless, I don’t see a point in upgrading.

I think its impossible to have true 7.1 actually since you would need 7 speakers to do tht. Its all virtual when it comes to soundbars and headsets.
