Theatrhythm Final Fantasy: Curtain Call trademarked in Europe

Monday, 27th January 2014 11:54 GMT By Dave Cook

Theatrhythm Final Fantasy: Curtain Call is launching in Japan this Spring, and Square Enix has stayed quiet on any possible western release. However, it’s now surfaced that the 3DS title was trademarked in Europe last month, specifically the term ‘Curtain Call.’

As Nintendo Life suggests, this could merely be Square covering its own arse and safeguarding the ‘Curtain Call’ name. The same trademark was filed in North America back in September, leading to rumours that the game is coming west.

Square’s European trademark was filed on Christmas Eve, and was only recently spotted. Could the game be coming west after all? We’ve asked the publisher for comment.

Meanwhile, do enjoy this Theatrhythm Final Fantasy: Curtain Call gameplay footage.

Had great fun with the first game, even though I’m not well versed in Final Fantasy Music. Will be sure to look at picking this one up when it finally releases.

Lol dudes, you should check Twitter more often. On January 23th someone tweeted you this: https://twitter.com/chibisake/status/426172053159698433

That tweets links to the site who found the trademark (and probably Nintendo Life took the news from there): http://www.deculture.es/2014/01/23/theathrythm-final-fantasy-curtain-call-europa/
