Users of Star Citizen’s community Organization System have created over 4,900 orgs in just 12 hours of launch, Cloud Imperium’s Chris Roberts has noted in a thank-you letter.

Funding for the space sandbox’s development has also reached $37 million in crowdfunding, reports Massively.

The $37 million stretch goal’s success means that the Tanga System has been unlocked, and the latest user poll allows members to choose the $39 million stretch goal.

Star Citizen is scheduled for a 2015 release.

I hope they have all that money in a high interest account, it’d earn them a good chunk of income on its own!

As a kick starter contributer I just hope they can deliver on the hype. With the dogfighting module delayed it seems a long way off and the release version may well be a work in progress. At this moment in time Elite dangerous is looking in better shape, but I’m cool with that.

I have mixed feeling about this game. I remember when this game was at around 3 million and was excited as hell. Now, idk what to think.

Might be me being a negative sod, but the more games are hyped, the more I tend to be disappointed by them. Lets see how this one will work out…
