Driveclub release date coming "shortly," Sony states

Driveclub publisher Sony has responded to the racer's delay in Japan. It follows a few recent reports that suggest the project is gaining momentum.

Earlier this week we reported that Driveclub will miss the PS4's February 22 launch in Japan.

We also reported that Driveclub was given its ESRB age rating, which suggested that he wheels are moving towards release.

Now, responding to the Japanese launch slip, a Sony rep told IGN, "The team at Evolution Studios are working hard to bring Driveclub, a truly next gen driving experience to PS4 and we will announce the release date shortly. We're really excited about how Driveclub is progressing and thank you for your patience."

How soon is shortly? Right now it's anyone's guess.
