EA VP Jeff Brown leaves company

Tuesday, 14th January 2014 03:14 GMT By Mike Irving

Jeff Brown has stepped down from his role as senior VP of corporate communications of EA after 14 years.

Venturebeat reports that Brown has moved to a similar position at the point-of-view sports camera company, GoPro.

He’s perhaps best known for his biting remarks over the years, often in defense of EA or comments on the industry in general.

In his departure, EA has assembled a global communications group, which David Tinson will lead.

Thanks, Polygon.

Guess doing a hattrick as Worst Company in America was too much for him.

I’m pretty sure that outside Battlefield 4, all of their games were did just as badly commercially as they did critically.
    - They ruined SimCity in one fell swoop.
    - Ended Dead Space franchise and then lied about it.
    - Started their next-gen reveal with another bullshit “Next gen sports” trailer (Madden in particular).
    - Absolutely destroyed Plants Vs Zombies with a bad pay-2-win sequel.
    - Released Peggle 2 as a Xbox One exclusive with less levels, features and powers than the first game.
    - Battlefield 4 fuck-up with apology.
    - NBA Live fuck-up with apology.

Did I miss anything? (Sorry about rantings and listings but I truly believe that this is the year where EA actually deserves to “win” the Golden Poo).

I still can’t believe EA was voted worst company in America… twice. There are companies [Banks, Oil companies, Pharmaceutical companies etc] that have literally destroyed peoples lives.

I hate EA for their practices as much as the next guy, but this is disgraceful.

    Good call.
Criterion may still be around but it is nothing more than a walking corpse.
