Hitman movie to star Homeland’s Rupert Friend

Friday, 10th January 2014 01:11 GMT By Brenna Hillier

The upcoming Hitman movie has been recast following the November death of Paul Walker, who was cast in February last year. According to Variety, Homeland star Rupert Friend is to play the titular bald agent in the newly-titled Agent 47, which we had been calling Hitman 2, as it’s a sequel to the last film. Friend also appeared in Pride and Prejudice and The Young Victoria, and is known for cheekbones you could shave with, magnificent eyebrows, and looking eerily like Orlando Bloom from 17% of all camera angles.

Thanks, Shack News.

I think it’s great. The face is a spot on.

Though I think David Bateson STILL SHOULD be the one IMO.

I thought it was a weird casting, but I image searched him for the article and he’s got a really good, intense expression set. I quite liked the first film, especially the way 47 was so silent and efficient, but he could have been a bit more frightening. I think Friend can develop that.

Well, he was good in Homeland and Peter Quinn, the guy he’s playing as, is pretty similar in character with 47 in a number of ways.

JASON STATHAM would be the best Hitman possible.

Great bit of casting in my opinion, he’s great in Homeland in which he effectively plays 47 minus cloning and monks. Shave his hair off and he’s perfect for it. This is good news.
