EverQuest Next Landmark’s associate producer Eric Smith and the game’s lead building and UI designer Jake Sones are featured in the developer video posted below. In it, the duo show off the advanced building tools in the sandbox title as well as the selection tool, line tool, and more. Alpha sign-ups are through here, and SOE teased last month that the tester could possibly start sometime in late January.

I continue to be intrigued and excited by this. Though mostly as an extension of what I’m already doing in Starbound, but in 3D. I’m really curious about what assets are going to be on offer after seeing the spacesuit in the founder’s pack, and how much tech there’s going to be rather than just the usual staid fantasy stuff.

This is definitely more along the lines of what I want from gaming, though.

I’ve been a huge Elder Scrolls fan since Daggerfall, but I feel like this game has the potential to destroy TES:Online.

User created content looks to be the future for the next few years, if the gameplay is as good as the toolset this might be the Minecraft Killer.

This will be awesome if you can building your own homes, shops, lakes, etc.. and have other players interact with it. This game is going to be huge and very ambitious. There is so much potential with all these tools. This game and Star Citizens are the only PC games I’m hyped for right now.

Only if the combat system would’t be such standard MMO crap :(
