Walking Dead, Wolf Among Us developer keen on James Bond game

TellTale Games would love to take on James Bond, showing a stealthier, more espionage-focused side of the super spy than most games to date.

Telltale co-founder Kevin Bruner told OXM that Ian Fleming’s famous franchise would be his first pick if money were no object.

“I’m a giant James Bond fan and I’m always frustrated by games that make him a mass murderer,” he said.

“He’s a super-spy, and that’s a different skillset. The films make him less of a mass murderer, and there’s not much killing in the books – more spying and intrigue.”

CEO Dan Connors said that although licensing has been vital to TellTale’s success, the idea of creating an original IP has become “more and more attractive” – especially if it could kick off a transmedia franchise.

“I think we’re looking more at ‘Can we engage some great storytelling mind to come in and work with us on something and make it not just a game franchise, but a full-on entertainment franchise with comics or a TV show and such and build it all together at once?’ We really see that as the next thing that’s gonna happen,” he said.

TellTale has kicked off season two of The Walking Dead, and has produced initial episodes of The Wolf Among Us, an adaptation of the comic Fables.

It’s also working on Game of Thrones and Borderlands titles, and past licensed titles include Sam & Max, Back to the Future and even Jurassic Park. The developer has also indicated it would be keen on a Star Wars game.

They really should be finishing the games they already have out instead of these “hopes” for future games.

Great but please, don’t just make a James Bond Wannabe.
Make James Bond as in James Bond from James Bond by Ian Flemming, the way he thought it, the way he wrote it, the way it was expressed over decades for passive entertainment.

All I am saying is that it becomes tiring to buy a game just for the name and not its content.

If they ever do it, I hope they get David Arnold for the soundtrack. That aside, I really wish they’d do a collaboration with Grasshopper Manufacture. We could end up getting something like Killer7 again <3

holy fuck, they could do anything with their gamestyle.

but i start to think the team is getting too small for all their projects.

it took them longer as expected on TWD season 1 when it was the only game they worked on.
now they make TWD, wolf among us, borderlands and game of thrones simultaniously…
