The Division delayed into 2015, source suggests – rumour

Tuesday, 7th January 2014 10:38 GMT By Dave Cook

The Division could have been delayed into 2015, according to an anonymous source from within Ubisoft Massive. This could be utter bollocks though, so make of this what you will while we investigate further.

We’re currently on the phone / email / carrier pigeon to our entire Ubisoft contact list on this one, so bear with us. Our local rep said that the publisher won’t comment on rumour or speculation, but we’re digging deeper.

Speaking with GameReactor, the supposed source said, “The game engine works well, it is not clear but works well. Actual game development has barely begun, however. The fact that Ubisoft issued a 2014 release date seems laughable if I’ll be completely honest, we will never have time to release The Division this year. This is a big project, we have very far to go …”

If true, it follows Ubisoft’s delay of Watch Dogs and The Crew, as well as the entire restarting of Rainbow Six: Patriots.

Again, we’re looking into this right now to either confirm or debunk the rumour. Hang tight.

I never believed this was gonna make 2014 anyways. I rather they delay until 2015 and finish it properly.

I never believed also, that this would make 2014.

I think UbiSoft announce these games for there shareholders. Watch Dogs, then delayed into following year, then Division then might be delayed into following year.

So it’s only right Ubi announce another blockbuster looking title at E3, then delay it into the following year. I guess it keeps their stock prices up.

Ubi has Watchdogs and 2 Assassin games coming in 2014.. That’s enough I reckon.
Not to mention E3 new IP announcements.

While I agree that they should take their time with it, I would still be disappointed – if true. One of the games of 2014 I am looking forward to most.

If we still get Watch Dogs, Destiny and Witcher 3 I can wait. I would still like to have more info, seems like the demo they have shown is gorgeous but seems like ten other games.

So despite the fact it’s being hailed as amazingballs, it’s so shit as it stands that it has to have another full year of dev time? (If true.)

    Screw this game..

Hype is killing this hobbie for me.

This isn’t bad news for me. There were already too many awesome games to choose from coming out in 2014. Makes my life easier if this is bumped back.
