Next-gen exclusive reveal coming with next Game Informer

Tuesday, 7th January 2014 00:24 GMT By Brenna Hillier

Game Informer’s next cover will feature a next-gen exclusive title when it is revealed tomorrow. We’re having a flutter on Turtle Rock’s Evolve.

“We have a kick ass cover reveal tomorrow morning at 11:00AM Central. Next-gen only that I think people will flip out over,” editor Andy McNamara said on Twitter.

“For those asking for the definition of Next Gen in that tease, you will find out platforms tomorrow.”

In response to prompting, McNamara confirmed the reveal is not Gears of War, God of War or Half-life 3.

Although it could be anything at all, we’re picking on Evolve, a highly mysterious multiplayer project in the works at Turtle Rock Studios.

The Left 4 Dead developer amicably took back its independence from Valve in 2009, signing on with THQ for an unrevealed multiplayer title. Take Two Interactive picked it up when THQ collapsed, presumably for publication by 2K, but we’ve heard absolutely nothing about it in the interim.

It seems like time, and Turtle Rock’s community manager seems to be quite excited about something.

i can see some plus to doing next gen only but think if you wanna make more money you need to do current gen.
70million 360s in home at the mo vs only 3million xbox1s, not sure on the playstation figures but its not gonna be much difference.

Now which would you rather release on to make more money. The shift this time is going to be a lot slower..
Most games announced probably won’t be out til really late 2014 but most delayed til 2015.
The ones that do come out this year, most will be on current gen with hardly any difference.
The more free games MS keep giving, the longer its going to take me to move, already got a huge backlog of games, plus all these recent xmas deals i got and still loads to get of this gen.

Eventually they’ll have to leave current gen behind if they want to move this forward.
