Throne Together now available through the Windows Store for W8.1

Saturday, 4th January 2014 17:41 GMT By Stephany Nunneley

Throne Together, which popped up recently through a trademark application, has been released on the Windows Store. The free, Windows 8.1 block-based puzzle game tasks players and their dragon assistant Fidget with placing blocks to build castles for their “royal clients” while pleasing the Castle Inspector in the process. Build wisely, or risk being “overthrone as the kingdom’s premiere architect.” More through the link.

I was way off, unless MS does what they did with Halo SO. Seems unlikely.

Windows 8.1 only and locked to the United States?

This is only the beginning, and it already does so much to legitimise Valve’s claims. The thing with Gabe Newell is that he’s a fairly prescient savant, he’s intense so not everyone might be inclined to listen, but history and his own successes lends him all the credit he deserves.

This is Microsoft lusting after Apple and wanting their money, and thus trying to be more like them by turning Windows into as much of a closed system as they can without alienating all of their customers.

Honestly, the great Linux exodus can’t happen soon enough.

I wouldn’t say all the credit he (Valve / Gabe) deserves but what MS is doing with iOS-izing the Windows is a million times worse than anything bad that Valve might have done to this day.

It’s really sad how Win 8 is actually winning thanks to all the pre-installed systems. I was hoping for another Vista level fail so we could get a semi-decent follow-up (A Win 9 in vein of 7).
