MX vs ATV series to be revived by Nordic Games after THQ sale

Friday, 20th December 2013 10:21 GMT By Dave Cook

MX vs ATV will live on following the license’s sale during the THQ IP auction. Nordic Games bought the brand, and has assembled a new team of former series developers to work on a new title, MX vs ATV Supercross.

In a press release sent to VG247 this morning, Nordic Games confirmed that the new team is based in Phoenix, Arizona and is working to release MX vs ATV Supercross in the first half of 2014 for Linux, Mac, PC, PS3 and Xbox 360 as a downloadable title.

The racer will retain elements of the code used in both MX vs ATV Alive and MX vs ATV Reflex and employs a new multiplayer component called ‘Motoclub Depot.’

In a statement, MX vs ATV Supercross executive producer Ken George wrote, “We’re absolutely thrilled to be working with Nordic Games because they appreciate the team’s passion and dedication to bring the feel of real motocross racing to MX vs. ATV fans. Not just the adrenaline rush, but the whole experience from top to bottom.

“A lot of the original team members have been aching to continue their passion: building the most authentic off-road racing games possible. The hiatus is over, and the team is back to work on MX vs. ATV with great new things to come.”

Wow Very EXCITED for 2014 now . I hope yous make a good job of this one. My expectations are very high 8). Please use the physics from reflex & the graphics from alive but make the bike bigger or rider smaller instead of a giant rider & small bike ha.The physics in alive are very bad even with all the bells & whistles the bike dosent turn or act the way you want it to and the whips/scrubs are SHIT. Also real Manufactures would be just Awesome & a Proper championship would also be great like moto gp. IM “SUPER PUMPED” FOR THIS GAME DONT LET ME DOWN 8).
