Freedom Cry, the post launch downloadable content for Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag, will be available next week, Ubisoft has announced.

Freedom Cry is a nine mission self-contained story featuring Edward Kenway’s first mate Adewale who while born a slave, found freedom as a pirate aboard the Jackdaw.

Fifteen years later, Adewale has become a trained assassin and finds himself shipwrecked in Saint-Domingue with no weapons or crew, starting a new adventure of his own.

Available as part of or without the Season Pass, the content will arrive on PC, PSN in the US and Xbox LIve on December 17.

It will be made available in the UK and Europe through PSN the following day, December 18.

Correct me if i’m wrong, but isn’t this the first time you’re able to play as a black male in any of the AC games, atleast singleplayer wise?

I quite like Adewale! He’s the first semi-memorable character throughout the history of Black Flag, and that actually took me aback.

    So I might get this.
