Techland’s Dying Light demo shows daytime level running on PS4

Sunday, 8th December 2013 00:56 GMT By Stephany Nunneley

Techland’s Dying Light was shown during VGX this evening. The demo on PS4 showed a daytime level and some parkour movements, such as using a zombie for momentum. The zombies are formidable enemies, but they become more powerful at night.

A sledgehammer weapon was shown, as was a two-headed axe. You can feel the impact from hitting the zombies, and the levels were developed so that players will have many ways in which to get to their destination.

The game was developed using Techland’s Chrome Engine 6 and the four player first-person open-world survival horror game is slated for release in 2014 for PlayStation 3, PC, Xbox 360, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

The demo is below.

I watched this trailer. Prior to that, I was interested in the game more. No sign of Hellraid.

I dont like the transparacy effect showing the bones broken when the zombie are hit with the player’s weapon. Other than that, I still want to play that game as a huge Dead Island fan. Too bad they didnt show some night action.

Looks awesome. Seems like they really fixed a lot of the stuff that sucked in Dead Island, most notably, now zombies are actually hostile.

Looks great and very polished but I don’t understand how these guys make zombie game and Hellraid together.

There must be something that is not going to not click with the game. Hated the moment when he threw hammer to the explosion barrel. Parkour on the other hand is amazing.
