Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag – Freedom Cry is the game’s first expansion, and the latest issue of Game Informer seems to have dropped the release date ahead of its official announcement.

As spotted by Videogamer, an advert in GameInformer states that Freedom Cry will drop December 17:

Here’s an image of the advert.

As outed in these Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag – Freedom Cry PS3 Trophies the DLC will see players freeing slaves.

Note that the advert above lists the content for PS3, PS4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One. Wii U and PC are absent. It appears that you’ll be playing as Adewale over a four hour mini-campaign.

We’ll have more details on the content as it comes. Are you eager to play it? Let us know below.

You know the best thing about AC4? Not having to wear skins that use a hoody. It looks so outdated now. I was completely surprised that the Templar Armor was my favorite.

I’d rather wear authentic clothes than that whole hoody thing.

It says a hell of alot that in all the cut-scenes Edward pulls the stupid thing down.

Its also refreshing that hes akin to Ezio in that he has an actual personality. I still as if they pitched this awesome pirate game and then Ubi asked them to shove Assassins and Templars and all that stupid rubbish in.

I guess it provides a different view point to the conflict by letting us look in from the side lines. I just got to Nassau in the game and I already just want to fart about in my boat and sing sea shanties.
