GAME UK secures extra PS4 consoles ahead of European launch

Thursday, 28th November 2013 12:55 GMT By Dave Cook

PlayStation 4 will launch across Europe tonight, and UK retailer GAME has confirmed it will have extra consoles to offer customers without pre-orders.

Across Britain, PS4 is now available without pre-order at 150 Tesco stores, 155 ASDA stores, and with this £52 O2 mobile contract.

In a press release sent to VG247, GAME confirmed that the PS4 consoles are available on a first-come, first-served basis at over 300 stores across the UK. Bundles include the Killzone Mega Pack, with Guerrilla’s shooter inside.

Charlotte Knight, category director at GAME said in a statement, “Demand for PlayStation 4 has been phenomenal and we’re gearing up for an incredible launch with more than 300 stores opening at midnight. On top of all that, we’re delighted that we’re able to bring additional stock to the UK market and make a limited number of additional PlayStation 4 bundles available at launch.

“We’re expecting these bundles and all accessories to fly off the shelves and so if you want to get your hands on a PlayStation 4 at launch, you need to get online now or go to one of our stores from midnight!”

I paid the princely sum of £260 for mine yesterday. 3 games, turtle beach headset and some other bits. Quite pleased! Helps that I traded my old 360 in towards it though ;)
