PS4 consoles available with £52 O2 phone contracts from Friday

Wednesday, 27th November 2013 11:52 GMT By Dave Cook

PlayStation 4 launches this Friday in the UK, and phone network O2 is offering consoles with a new £52 a month contract on day-one.

It follows confirmation that 155 ASDA stores across the UK will have PS4 consoles at launch. Get the full list of outlets through the link.

Eurogamer cautions that O2′s deal requires an £89.99 up-front cost. The console comes with Killzone: Shadow Fall and a 12-month subscription to PS Plus.

The £52 contract itself gets you a Sony Xperia Z1 phone, unlimited minutes and texts, and 1GB of data per month.

Participating O2 stores can be found here.

I don’t think that’s to bad to be honest. Only thing I don’t like is data 1GB is just not enough.

@1 Providers don’t want to give unlimited data any more, only 3 will give you unlimited, I believe.

I do think it’s too expensive though.

That is proper expensive, for one year you are looking at £713.99 ((£52 x 12mnths) + £89.99) which says to me it’s a 24mnth contract as if you take out the price of the PS4 killzone bundle £389 the cost of psn (brought at rrp) £39.99 and the cost of the phone £440 = -£155 at the expense of o2 so add another £713.99 and it gives a nice total of £558.99 you could afford the xbox one 3/4′s of the way through the contract if brought separately as and when you could….. also, 1gb of data?!? seriously?
