Pikmin dsigner Masamichi Abe is said to be working on a new Nintendo IP, according to a tweet from his former colleague, Tekken producer Katsuhiro Harada.

Polygon spotted Harada’s tweet.

Abe has worked on Tekken 2, the first two Pikmin titles, Metroid Prime: Hunters and Mario vs. Donkey Kong: Minis March Again. It’s unclear what this new Nintendo IP is.

We’ve asked out local Nintendo team for a comment.

Can’t be real. Ninty and new games? I rather believe in a new Half-Life.

I do enjoy seeing second/third parties who are separate entities from Nintendo apparently equaling New IPs by Nintendo, oh boy.

Published? Sure, but by Nintendo? No.
