Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy 13 has received a demo in Japan, along with new costume DLC. One outfit is a must-see for Moogle fans. Seriously.

It follows the Lighting Returns: Final Fantasy 13 intro video. Watch it through the link.

Siliconera reports that the Japanese demo is the same section showcased at E3. it gives players a chance to fight giant dragon Zaltys and posts in-game screenshots to Twitter and Facebook.

Users with a Japanese PSN account can download the demo now, but the Xbox 360 version requires a Japanese Xbox Live gold account.

The site also details three new pieces of costume DLC. You’ll find images in our gallery below. There’s the Moogle Queen outfit Moogle Stick weapon, and Moogle Shield set, a Holy Asgard set with Cosmo Curator garb outfit, Crocea Mors weapon, and Abyss Gate shield, and finally, an Ultimate Liberator set with Celestial outfit, Excalibur sword and Aegis Shield.

Images of the packs come in the order listed above.

Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy 13 hits PS3 and Xbox One in North America on February 11, then in the UK and Europe from February 14.

That moogle costume is freaking scary!

I’m still looking forward to this game, I can see myself going insane and collecting ALL the costumes.

@2 the costumes that ive seen the player switch between in the gameplay videos have all had different abilities (and status effects and boosts and things), and can be combined with any weapon or shield or accessory, each holding their own status effects and boosts and things, so it does look like theres an awful lot of tinkering that can be done to get the right mix.

so you’d hope that would be the same for the DLC costumes as well, but i dont know about that… i hope so. but also hope that there arent too many DLC costumes, and they leave most of them in game.
because, as @5, i know im going to love this game, and am gonna wanna collect everything!!!

@3: Sad part is, that’s not even an exaggeration for joke purposes, Squeenix really is pathetic enough to do something like that.

@4: Not worst, but most definitely nowhere near deserving of the ludicrous amount of attention Squeenix is giving. I’m also very sure Toriyama’s obsession with this character is a big reason for why he ruined Aya Brea with 3rd Birthday. Can’t have people knowing about and admiring a badass female protagonist that came long before Toriyama’s bullshit.

@4 i did bang it after i purchased the previous two installments of this failure of a saga.there won’t be a third time

@6 nowhere near the fun the exploration, searching out optional weapons and mythical beings (summons)gave you in many previous installments.Dressing up Barbie isn’t fun

@6: That just amounts to Toriyama taking a gameplay mechanic that’s existed since Final Fantasy III and watering it down from its former greatness into only one character using it, then adding a layer of treating women like sexualized Barbies on top.

I hope none of this people work on FF15, I have high hopes for FF15 but as a fan of FF7/8/9 (even 10 was ok) I was VERY sad to have played FF 13
