Forbidden Siren – or just Siren for those of you in other parts of the world – has been mentioned for PS4 in a press release issued by PlayStation Romania.

You’ll find the document here, as spotted by NeoGAF.

It announces a January 29 PS4 launch date in Romania, and mentions a few incoming titles. Google Translate produces the following result:

“Furthermore, Sony Computer Entertainment studios around the world are working to develop more than 30 titles such as inFAMOUS: Second Son, The Order: 1886, Siren, Helldivers, Shadow of the Beast, and Everybody’s Gone to The Rapture. Of these, 20 games will be available in the first year since its launch, and 12 are not part of existing series.”

The last game in Siren series was the PS3 release Blood Curse. The franchise began with Forbidden Siren on PS2. Would you like to see the series continued on PS4? Let us know below.

Toyama is making Gravity Rush 2 right now. So the news that there might be a Siren game being made without his direct input has me slightly worried.

I hope its a Japan Studios game at the least. Cautious optimism here though.

Forbidden Siren’s a shining light over the mire of action “survival”
horror. It would be superb to see it again, on PS4, ESPECIALLY with the new system’s capabilities.

In regards to this genre, not really Siren, but the treatment of Fatal Frame has been little short of obnoxious and disgraceful. Nintendo
have just been sitting on that IP for a generation >:( (and they failed to release FF4 altogether)

Fatal Frame 4 was actually really good aswell.

Its better than the remake of 2 which got localised and I have no idea why Nintendo decided that the broken piece of shit that is the 3DS game deserved to be translated.

FF4 is fully playable if you manage to find one of the very rare boxed copies (mine is still sealed :D) the translation patch that was released for it removed the region locking with some fancy coding. Its easy to get running, still no excuse but its there.

You guys should know that the new Siren will be made by the same creator of Silent Hill 1,2,3 which is fxxxxing awesome !
About Fatal Frame IP ,I think Nintendo should give back the IP to Tecmo so they can have the freedom to make a new game whenever they want in any system , been always hoped to see a sequel for FF3 and the old games but FF4 changed the whole plot without referring anything to the old games

Toyama just made Silent Hill 1. He then left Konami to go to Sony and make the Siren series.

Always pity not finishing Siren 1 and 2 on PS2. It’s pretty hard because of the system but the story is amazing and terrifying.
