Demon Tribe: Jet Set Radio director launches MOBA, out now on iOS

Friday, 22nd November 2013 09:05 GMT By Dave Cook

Demon Tribe is the MOBA that’s also a card-battler, that’s also an RPG from Jet Set Radio director Masayoshi Kikuchi. It’s out on iOS now as a free-to-play title under publisher Sega.

We’ve got a Demon Tribe trailer through the link for you to check out.

It’s been labelled a dark sci-fi adventure, in which players can craft teams of warriors by ensnaring and fusing together some 250 demons, in order to grab their power. There’s a single player strain which sees you levelling up and finding more demons to harvest.

Kikuchi said in a statement, “We’ve created a unique experience that delves into the magical land of demons and monsters in a never before seen way. Demon Tribe brings together elements of our favorite genres as the game experience is filled with fast, responsive action while offering an amazing level of depth and detailed RPG elements.”

There are also co-op clan battles, three-on-three PvP battles playable across iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch, as well as online rankings. It’s all in 3D, with cut-scenes and a full orchestral soundtrack.

You can download Demon Tribe on iOS here.

I read that as ‘Jet Set Radio MOBA’ and my brain reeled at how they could have pulled that off. Then I realised what it actually said and felt slightly disappointed.

I want a MOBA where everyone is skating around! Perhaps on rocket skates.

@1 YES I’d actually play that one, unlike every other MOBA.
