Xbox One online gameplay is always a party with Smart Match and Snap

Microsoft has explained how the Party System works for Xbox One when you are online using Xbox Live.

It's always a party, apparently, as you can see all your friends online and join their "party" with a click - if it's not a private party, obviously.

According to program manager Steve Dolan, whose team works on the Party System, you can also join an online game using the system through Smart Match.

Party Scout also comes into play with the system, as it allows you to so other things while waiting on joining a multiplayer game. This is accomplished using the Snap app which will send a notification when you can join a game. The notice will pop up while you watch TV, are messing around in another app, or are playing another game. This has been detailed before.

You can get more details on the feature through Major Nelson's blog.

Xbox One is out tomorrow.
