A Game of Thrones game is in the works at The Walking Dead developer TellTale Games, according to industry whispers.

IGN cites multiple anonymous sources for word of the adaptation,

The developer had little to say on the whisperings, issuing a statement noting that it gets “these sorts of rumours about what we could be working on next cropping up all the time”.

“Officially we have no comment,” publishing SVP Steve Allison said.

Telltale is currently working on new episodes in The Wolf Among Us, its Fables game, along with the second season of The Walking Dead. It is believed to have other projects on the go, which the company has described as “dream IP”.

There have been a couple of Game of Thrones games so far; a third-person action RPG and strategy title, both from Cyanide, and a social game called Game of Thrones: Ascent.

I really hope this is true. They do have to ramp up their graphics though. Walking Dead and Wolf Among Us do look the part, but I think realism would be much more fitting for Game of Thrones.

And with this, the VGA’s just lost one of its exclusive unveilings (assuming it’s true).
