Tuesday, 19th November 2013 08:29 GMT By Dave Cook

Shadowrun: Dragonfall is the official expansion to Shadowrun Returns. Developer Harebrained Schemes has lifted the lid off the new content in Kickstarter post. Find out what the deal is here.

The studio’s Kickstarter post refers to the Free City of Berlin as a, “stable anarchy enforced by an ever-shifting coalition of megacorps, political factions, and savvy power players. A place where almost anything goes and the right connections can be the difference between success and starvation.”

It’s a place where quick money can be made, but where you may not live long enough to spend it. Word on the street starts bubbling around an event from the earliest days of the Awakened world called ‘Dragonfall.’ You become sucked into the quest to learn the truth about its meaning and make decisions that may alter Berlin’s future.

Shadowrun: Dragonfall is a full-length campaign that features a soundtrack composed by creator of the Sega Mega Drive original Sam Powell. Along the way you’ll equip new weapons and Cyberware to give you an edge when facing the expansion’s original enemies.

What do you think?

The expansion is coming to Windows, Mac, and Linux in January, 2014 It’ll cost $14.99 alone, or $24.99 for the original game and expansion together.

I was never too familiar with the Shadowrun Universe, but when I heard around the end that one of the characters I met works for a dragon, I couldn’t help but be kind of confused.

Dragons … that sounds like an absolute terrible idea.

@YoungZero Because associating with Dragons in Shadowrun universe is an absolutely terrible idea. You see they are malevolent and vile, they own the world through corporation empires they built using and abusing all the other species. They have their theeth into everything that’s going on and when you come across their associates it means only two things, either you stuck your nose where it doesn’t belong, or you’re gonna be a pawn playing your role in their plots. There are rare doomsday scenarios when your interests are aligned and you’re given the resources you need to defuse a clusterfuck of a situation like the events of Shadowrun Returns. So, yes, never make a deal with a dragon YoungZero, we’d hate to see you gone indefinitely, us Shadowrunners need to have each other’s back.

Personally I’m happy to hear the news for the first expansion, hope they implement real choice making with the plot. It’s sorely needed. Going after Lofwyr the most influential and rich Dragon out there is gonna be awesome.

What I meant was that I don’t think Dragons – as a species – fit into something like Shadowrun. Do they look like Dragons? Or are they some kind of shapeshifters? The thought of someone as big as godzilla running a corporation is so freakin’ absurd.
