So far Xbox One titles have better launch line-up games and score.

but it is the same thing as saying that thispile of dog … is better then this small pile of …

but maybe Forza 5/Ryse scors will be good.

Lol loco cycle did anyone expect any better that game looked ass but the scores are just as mediocre as PS4 nothing big

  3. mistermogul

Crimson Dragon is a bit disappointing by the looks of it. I really liked Panzer Dragoon on the original Xbox…

    #3 1 year ago
  4. TrickyAudio

I’ve never even heard of Loco Cycle….

Zoo Tycoon, oddly, is the only game I’d like to play on the One! LOVED that series back in the day.

@2 Twisted Pixel has always done me good in the past. Then they were bought out by Microsoft and haven’t had a single game release in two years… which turns out to be terrible. So pretty much par for the course as far as first party Microsoft studios go then.

  6. VibraniumSpork

This is looking good for the XB1 and – as a PS4-launcher – I’ll admit to feeling a l’il bit butthurt about it ^_^

Some good solid scores here which will no doubt be bolstered by some 9/10 scores for Forza…Ryse is the real unknown quantity however. Be interesting to see where that one falls.

  7. Kreion

Right, given that the other two of note are 343 and Turn 10. God knows they only produce shit /sarcasm/.

Twisted Pixel is out here in AUstin and before they were bought they got involved in a lot of game events like IGDA yearly picnic but since they were bought its as if they just stopped caring and I haven’t seen any old faces. Its very discouraging. I guess the same thing happened with Rare.

  10. CycloneFox

From what I’ve heard, Ryse will be a solid title (Even with that moving past, it had). So I suppose, it’ll have the best scores of the Xbox One launch titles. It’s good to see, that they moved away from gimicy Kinect implementation and quick time events to a solid core game, imo.

That will be the title, I’m missing because I pick up the PS4. But the first party stuff (Uncharted, The Order 1886, Infamous), some of the indi stuff and openness of the platform, and the fact, that I still love to play Japanese games (except for Crimson Dragon which is from MS Japan, there is almost no Japanese market on the Xbox), makes me prefer the PS4.

@7 343 has only just taken the reigns of Halo, and many of them are ex Bungie staff… a company that went out of its way to buy itself *out* of Microsoft.

Then there is Lionhead, which went to the dogs and whose sole franchise for the past decade has become more basic and diluted with every iteration.

I don’t even need to get started on Rare.

I have no opinion on Turn 10.

Microsoft’s first party output is horrendously terrible, and always has been.

I’m predicting that the reviews for Ryse will be so varied that it may just prove to be the standard by which the integrity of all review sites can be judged.

The reliable journalists will call it out for what it really is and give it low scores. Meanwhile others will give it 9s, thereby suggesting that they’ve either rushed the review and allowed the graphics to influence their opinion too much, been paid to give it a good score, or that they’re simply devoid of any taste in video games.

There’s no conspiracy in games journalism.

  14. Joe Musashi

Encouraging scores and a good spread to gameplay styles.

LOL at Edge’s score – c’mon Edge, jeez!

Prediction: Polygon’s scores will be amongst the highest per title. ;)

I’ve seen a variety of feedback concerning Ryse, so it’ll be interesting to see how it does in reviews.

  15. UuBuU

@12 Even if you disgard the idea of bought reviews, Ryse will still reveal the poor reviewers.

I expected more of Zoo Tycoon! Good ol’ days white bengal tigers and all :D

  17. TheKeyPit

    Zoo Tycoon – 75/100 –

    Crimson Dragon – 50/100 –

    LocoCycle – 60/100 –

  18. bradk825

The two reviews I was most hoping for are not until later this week… Zoo Tycoon scored surprisingly well for what it is, I look forward to playing it with my son.

Never heard of Lococycle until just now, but if the scores are to be believes I don’t want to play it anyway.

I saw trailers for Crimson Dragon, and 6/10 is probably fair.

I look forward to seeing what Ryse and Forza do. I feel like Forza is a guaranteed high score, but Ryse will probably have a mix of high and low scores. A lot who have played previews seem to have wildly differing opinions of it.

    NOOOO Crimson Dragon!!! :’(

The only Xbox One game that had my interest…..

    #19 1 year ago
  20. KineticCalvaria

Very average reviews although certainly not bad, at least PS4 had Resogun :).

    #20 1 year ago
  21. Obernox

Fuck it, i’d still play it *Crosses arms*

    Hopefully it’ll get a 360 port though……

    #21 1 year ago
  22. Beta

As Resogun is the standout for PS4, I think Forza will be the standout title for Xbox.

    I’m unsure about Ryse.

    #22 1 year ago
  23. Spider Law

Seeing as how it’s played out in the past, I bet Ryse will get a bunch of 9+ from the big review names while getting 5s-7s from the smaller names.

Either way, I hope they have a successful launch and all the MS fans have a blast with their next gen console.

  24. Legendaryboss

Just to get an overall perspective review-wise on the launch games on Xbox One ATM:

    Lococycle (54):
    Dead Rising 3 (79) :
    Crimson Dragon (55):
    DOG Ghosts (78):
Two solid games there and two off ones.

Similar viewpoints to you Ryse Son Of Rome will have a mix and Forza 5 is guaranteed to get some high scores, sounds about right.

  25. Lv01

    @24 ‘DOG Ghosts’!!! hahahahahaha!

I felt the same about Killzone, and so it proved.

  27. The_Red

Don’t get the later embargo for Forza 5. Sure, Ryse still being under embargo makes sense since it’s getting 3 and 4s from likes of Game Informer but why Forza?

    #27 1 year ago
  28. Legendaryboss

Keep the hype (if any) consistent throughout the week and towards launch?

    #28 1 year ago
  29. The_Red

Good point, especially about Forza which along with Dead Rising 3 will probably end up as the highest rated launch title.

    #29 1 year ago
  30. Ballisticon

Are we all reading the same article? These scores are all fairly bad/mediocre…for all the games. Not sure why people are saying the opposite.

    #30 1 year ago
  31. Ireland Michael

30 Pretty much. These scores are rather dreadful. Variety is meaningless if the games simply aren’t very good.

    #31 1 year ago
  32. Beta

I must say. These are average, not good scores. Underwhelming just like the PS4 launch.

Although here there’s at least more mediocrity to go around.

See if we had a down vote button I’d be negged to hell now :)

  33. manamana

Oh great, Chris Carter chose to give A Link between Worlds a 65 because he ‘couldn’t feel the magic’. Must be a lot of magic in an on-rails shooter of the past then …

would love to see the 3rd party XO versions on this list

@24 LOL was DOG: Ghosts on purpose?

You know the funny thing, Riley really was gimicky, but I didn’t care, it was still fun to watch him jump out of the windshield of the truck to rip someone’s throat out. Sometimes that 80s action movie stuff just doesn’t need to apologize for what it is, lol.

  36. Nephilimator

Wow pretty bad shit. Maybe Forza can save launch. But the good thing is the console is not really a game machine at heart so game scores don’t matter to DVRboxone.

@38 Kind of is, Ryse is an amateur tech demo at best while ps4 has warframe.

@38 you are obviously right. Just let me add that as a craving SHMUP fan, I’m really tempted to buy a PS4 before 2014 comes. I know, I know. It’s silly and I have all the time in the world … but damn! Nah, I wont do it. But damn! Well, I’m off playing Stardust Delta on my Vita then. Damnthingsnotthesameasresogun, shit, gotta resist!

@41 You can’t buy a PS4 unless you are going to shell out $1,000 on a 8 game bundle with 7 shit games. Sold out. Like a boss.

  47. Playmaker

I see necrofiliac and lonely island michael are hanging around. Not too busy playing their barely next gen side scroller Resogun! to have have time to post here. Face it little boys, the XB1 lineup at launch is far better then PS4. Knowing ppl like you are on PSN is one reason I’m so glad you’re not on XBL. Too bad because I’m sure most PSN players are good apples. You guys would be the rotten bunch.

haha…man, go multiplat finally. not everyone is as brandloyal as you. some people enjoy games not platformbrands. why is that so hard for you kids to understand?
