Battlefield 4 PC servers hampered by DDOS attack this weekend

Battlefield 4 players hoping for some multiplayer matches on PC this weekend found themselves frustrated by server issues - the result of nefarious activity.

Prior to its replacement with a PS4 news post, the Battlelog main page contained a message confirming ongoing issues with PC servers.

"We are currently experiencing attacks on our infrastructure that is impacting online gameplay on BF4 PC. We are working on mitigating actions," DICE wrote, as reported by Kotaku.

In a post on the Battlefield forums, DICE's Ali Hassoon confirmed the nature of the attacks.

"We are being targeted by a DDOS, but working on fixing it ASAP. I'm sorry somebody is ruining your and my day. Rest assured we are doing our best to mitigate the situation though," he said.

Battlefield 4 is available now on PC, PlayStation 3, PS4 and Xbox 360; the Xbox One version is on the way when the console launches.
