Wednesday, 13th November 2013 10:21 GMT By Dave Cook

Team 17 has returned to third-party publishing after 20 years. Its next published title will be Light, from Brighton outfit Just A Pixel. It’s currently receiving votes on Steam Greenlight.

You’ll find Light on Steam Greenlight here.

In a statement, the studio said of its return to publishing, “Team 17 has an incredible community running into many millions that we can cross-promote within and raise awareness for new IPs and specifically indie games, which are very close to our hearts and something we stand up for.

“Team 17 is home to an awesome digital publishing team who have topped every digital chart from PC, console and mobile over the last couple of years. Most importantly, Team 17 make games as well and know first-hand just what it takes to make a game and take it to market correctly across all platforms.”

Hm. I’m not sure what to make of it, yet. It’s an unspoken narrator telling a pixel to run around and hack things in a Frozen Synapse-like environment. The strength of something like this would be entirely in the environment and the story. Can they pull it off? I don’t know. It is interesting, though.
