Call of Duty: Ghosts update released on all formats, patch notes & fixes inside

Call of Duty: Ghosts has received a title update on PC, PS3, Wii U and Xbox 360. It addresses several known issues such as a private match crash and more.

It follows reports that Call of Duty Ghosts on PS4 is experiencing frame-rate issues. Get the details through the link.

This is a tiny one, but here are the scant patch notes as posted on the Call of Duty forum:

All Platforms

  • Improved operations functionality.
  • UI Bug Fixes
  • Fixed issue with splitscreen players rank.
  • Fixed a rare crash with specific private match settings.

    Looks like this was a small patch with minor issues being fixed, but it brings to mind my frustration with the current trend out there. How many games have been released lately in a broken state because the devs know they can use real players for testing and fix it post-release with a patch. GTA V and Batman Arkham Origins are some very notable examples.

    It’s great that they can patch games now, but it is not an excuse for poor quality of work. It seems like a lot of devs are having this “we can fix it later” mentality and it makes me feel bad for those who don’t play online and have bought an unplayable game.

    Looks like a minor patch while the PC port is just as unoptimized (2014 system requirements) as it is awful (2008 graphics).
