Assassin’s Creed movie coming August 2015

Distributor Fox has announced the Assassin’s Creed movie has been pushed back from June 9, 2015 to August 7, 2015, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The film is being developed by Ubisoft and New Regency, and looks set to star Michael Fassbender. We had expected it as early as this year, but it went through a rewrite; Ubisoft is quite protective of this one.

Thanks, Polygon.

That does not bode well. June is considered a near-prime date for movies that studios have faith in them.

August by comparison is a dumping ground for stuff studios don’t like (With a few R rated flicks like District 9 and Expendables as exceptions).

They should make a movie about an assassin who likes jogging.
Th’ first scene can have him stealing an idol from a temple an’ then
running away with it. He later finds th’ Ark o’ th’ Covenant which some
Nazi’s open an’ unwittingly unleash th’ Latrine o’ God melting their
    faeces. It’s great.

I still think they should’ve went the HBO route and made a high budget TV series. There’s too much going on in this game for one movie, and them trying to trim and cut it won’t sit well with fans nor make a good impression with potential movie goers either.

But a movie? Yea… I think I would go and see it. I think there is potential.

Would it mean that the AC series is at an end?
