Super Mario 3D World and Mario Party: Island Tour trailers show off new Wii U entries

Tuesday, 12th November 2013 00:37 GMT By Brenna Hillier

These short-but-sweet Nintendo trailers show off two new games coming this very month – Super Mario 3D World for Wii U and Mario Party: Island Tour for 3DS

Well, I say “this month” but Mario Party: Island Tour doesn’t yet have a confirmed release date outside North America; PAL regions can expect it sometime in 2014.

Thanks, AllGamesBeta.

These aren’t trailers. They’re TV commercials

A Wii U with Super Mario 3D World bundled would be quite opportune right about now. Something to think about, precisely two years ago a title by the name of Super Mario 3D Land spiked 3DS sales.

Yeah, SM3D is the hope for Wii U for a good holiday season. It will sell systems. How much is the question. A temporary holiday boost just isn’t enough now.

It’s possible that Monster Hunter, Mario Kart 8, X, and Super Smash Bros could keep the momentum alive as well. I also expect another price cut in 2014, dropping the Wii U to around $250, which should also contribute to sales.

Either way, I’m not passing up on Super Mario 3D World. I will own a Wii U, it’s just a matter of time.

In the meantime, I plan to play through Donkey Kong Country Returns while simultaneously trying to hunt down Xenoblade Chronicles for the Wii.

@4: brace yourself for dkcr. it really is as tough as they say!

i am not really feeling m3dworld atm. i mean i will get it and it looks great but i am, strangely, because there aren’t really lots of games i’m interested in for now, hyped for the ps 4 launch.

i am actually looking forward to play knack coop with my girlfriend. she is not a gamer but played some of the lego games with a friend and loved it. knack looks pretty good for couch coop i must say. she gets frustrated pretty fast in a game like nsmb.
kirby epic yarn and return to dreamland worked better and she absolutely loved mario galaxy!

previews mentioned that mario3d world will be pretty easy which would be nice for coop but at the same time, would piss me off a bit tbh. we’ll see.

lots of good games in the pipeline for wiiu. system night not be a success for nintendo (but who knows, everything can happen), but it’s NOT a dead system. nintendo will keep supporting it for a good while…just like the gamecube. one of my favourite systems.

i crave an epic winter game. this winter has 2 console releases, ok, that’s not too shabby but it has nothing like a skyrim, halo reach, dark souls 2, evil within.
