Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy 13 interactive trailer wants your fashion input

Monday, 11th November 2013 04:28 GMT By Brenna Hillier

Quashing any doubts that Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy 13 isn’t almost entirely about playing dress ups, this new trailer shows off 13 of Lightning’s 80 outfits in battle and the field.

Click on of the thirteen squares to be taken to the appropriate snippet of footage.

Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy 13 is not actually all about dress ups – although to be fair, there is a lot of that – and arrives on PS3 and Xbox 360 in February.

Thanks, Gematsu.

The more I think about this thing, the more I realize that this game is just a natural evolution of all the “Motomu Toriyama makes a fan game entirely to sate his own perversions only he gets to say it’s official and gets paid for it” stuff he’s been up to over the past decade. Every game where the primary purpose of its existing is to let Toriyama perv out over the female body involves dressing the women in various fetish outfits.

@1 Oh do be quiet. The gameplay actually looks fun.

If you think a woman changing clothes is “pervy”, you’re the one with the issue here. I see absolutely nothing pervy in this video. *One* of those poses is slightly suggestive. That’s about it.

Anyway, those “pervy” elements you talk about exist to sate an otaku culture, not the whims of the directors. Most of the games he’s worked on have never had any sort of “pervy” elements, and the few you constantly obsess over are nowhere near as bad as you make them out to be. Square is probably one of the most restrained Japanese game developers there are when it comes to that sort of thing.

Now that we know you regularly peruse communities where girls panties are a common commodity, you should probably stop projecting yourself on to others. It’s fooling no-one.
