GTA Online Stimulus cash payments going live now

GTA Online developer Rockstar North has begun topping up the back accounts of players following the game's shaky start.

It follows the release of GTA Online update 1.05, which addresses several technical issues.

In a press release sent to VG247, Rockstar confirmed that the $500,000 compensation is being issued to players from today, and is being doled out in one lump sum, as seen in this tweet from CVG's Iain Wilson:

Rockstar has stressed that while the money is going out from today, it could take a day or two to process. Everyone should have it by close of play Friday, however.

Meanwhile, the GTA Online content creator is still due for a Fall release.
