Monday, 4th November 2013 08:34 GMT By Dave Cook

Ridge Racer: Unbounded developer Bugbear Entertainment has taken its new project – dubbed ‘Next Car Game’ – to Kickstarter, following its successful run on Steam Greenlight.

We reported that the studio is accepting pre-orders for the game over on Steam Greenlight here. You’ll find some screens and a trailer over at the game’s hub.

Now, Bugbear has launched a Kickstarter campaign to raise funds for the project, to the tune of $350,000. It has raised $19,121 so far with 27 days spare.

Coming from the makers of FlatOut, you can expect brutal demolition derby smash-ups, mad physics and more. The studio has given more insight in this behind-the-scenes trailer:

The game is slated for release on Steam, Windows and the Humble Store, with PS4 and Xbox One as stretch goals.

Let us know what you think of the project below.

Mmmm love it when devs focus on physics like this. Doesn’t look quite as good as BeamNG but that’s hardly a game so…

Love the stunt stuff in the Flatout games – great couch gaming. Would pay for a game of just that. Looks like it isn’t really taking off kickstarter wise – which is a shame as I’d need to to get close to stretch goals to commit.
