Blackthorne, Blizzard’s classic SNES platformer released for free

By Ewan Miller, Friday, 1 November 2013 00:04 GMT

Blizzard has rereleased Blackthorne, a SNES, DOS and 32X platformer the company released in its Lost Vikings era on Battle.net. If you head over to your Battle.net account page and go to “Download Game Clients” under Games and Codes, you’ll find the Windows only rerelease. Aside from figuring how to make it run on a modern computer, Blizzard doesn’t seem to have touched the shotgun-em-up, with its original pixels gloriously free of smoothing and MIDI soundtrack intact.

I can’t say I have any experience with this one, is it worth giving a try?

Thanks, Joystiq.
