This is your day-one lineup of PS4 games [UPDATED with 5 more]

Wednesday, 30th October 2013 18:25 GMT By Phil Owen

The launch lineup for the PlayStation 4 has lost a bit of luster recently, but it still has games! Sony’s list of day one games below.

Killzone Shadow Fall
Sound Shapes
Angry Birds Star Wars
Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag
Call of Duty Ghosts
Battlefield 4
Just Dance 2014
Injustice: Gods Among Us Ultimate Edition
Lego Marvel Super Heroes
Madden NFL 25
NBA 2K14
Pinball Arcade

UPDATE: These three games were just added to the list
Tiny Brains
Super Motherload

UPDATE 2: more still
DC Universe Online
Skylanders Swap Force

The PS4′s free-to-play titles are curiously absent from the list: Blacklight Retribution, DC Universe Online and Warframe should also be available to play on day one.

Those are, again, only the games that will be available on the first day the PS4 is out in North America. NBA Live 14 and Need for Speed Rivals will be out the next week.

You know your line up is weak when you have to include freaking Angry Birds as a launch title.

@2: indies, destiny and maybe sometimes an upcoming sony exclusive here and there and some few upcoming third party games…but mainly it will probably become my destiny + indies box i guess
    but that’s ok.

The first *year^ of a console’s lineup is largely irrelevant. It won’t be until the second year that we start seeing stuff take real advantage of the hardware under the hood, and it won’t be until the third that the truly spectacular stuff starts coming along.

The launch lineups for both machines are “same old same old” exclusives and indie titles that will mostly be released on current gen hardware anyway. There’s some good stuff on each machine, but nothing that makes me feel even remotely inclined to pick the machine up on day one,

I honestly can’t see myself even touching the new hardware until 2015. Oh well. On the plus (no pun intended) side, when I do finally pick up a PS3, I’ll have a good year or more’s worth of PS+ titles to play on the thing,

Looking at IGN PS4 launch list there might be a few titles missing or not coming for the EU or NA launch, not sure which region’s list this is based on.

Need this machine to play the updated Flower. But that will be there waiting for me when I can justify the buy sometime in 2014/2015.
