The Typing of The Dead: Overkill has been launched on Steam by Sega. The tap-happy shooter comes just in time for Halloween. Check out the screens here.

I’m a sucker for typing games. I wrote a retrospective on them here, including the original Typing of the Dead.

Developed by Modern Dream and Hardlight Studios, the game also comes with a free copy of The House of the Dead: Overkill and comes in at £14.99/$19.99/€17.99. It’s currently on sale now at 50% off. You can buy it here.

In a statement Ollie Clark, Creative Director at Modern Dream said, “People often gripe about how video games aren’t educational or useful in everyday life. But with The Typing of the Dead: Overkill you can now shoot up a carnival full of flesh eating mutant clowns while improving your typing and personal vocabulary. Happy Halloween!”

Any takers? I’ll add that the game is bloody hilarious.
