Assassin’s Creed 4 PlayStation exclusives not coming to other platforms

Wednesday, 30th October 2013 00:56 GMT By Brenna Hillier

Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag’s PlayStation exclusive DLC won’t be coming to any other platforms, Ubisoft has confirmed.

Although platform exclusive content often comes to other systems after a limited period of exclusivity, the Assassin’s Creed publisher told Eurogamer that’s not the case this time.

The hour of extra levels starring Aveline, first seen in Vita title Assassin’s Creed: Liberation, will only ever be available on PlayStation 3 and PS4, Ubisoft said.

More explicitly, a representative told Joystiq that “the PS exclusive DLC isn’t planned for Xbox 360/Xbox One”.

Doubts about the content’s exclusivity arose after a North American trailer suggested the exclusivity period was six months long.

Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag hit PS3 and Xbox 360 yesterday, and is coming to PC, PS4, Wii U and Xbox One in November.

    Interesting, if that remains true. Itching to get this for PS4, but it really doesn’t look next gen for consoles judging by the footage. Water looks tons better, environments, too… yet it shows that this game was developed for current gen.

    Doesn’t the term “exclusive” mean that by default?

    @3 Not in this industry.

    It often means ‘timed-exclusive.’ But saying that isn’t as sexy or likely to get gamers rabidly placing down pre-orders.

    That is a problem with your psn account or your internet, miller, try downloading it again later and it will most likely load, if not, get a better internet connection. Trust me i have had this problem with several downloads, never should have switched to ps3. This never happened with my 360
