Broken Rules has released an alpha version of Secrets of Rætikon, available to those who buy into a crowdfunding campaign to fund the final months of development.
The indie developer is hoping to raise $40,000 via Indiegogo, and is offering alpha access as one reward tier to encourage backers. Buying in also grants access to backer forums.
The developer warned that the alpha version is “bug-ridden and unfinished” but can be played all the way through, with all content and secrets – except the game’s ending.
The alpha build is available on Mac and PC, and is coming to Linux soon.
Broken Rules is quite open on its need for additional funding to finish the game; if successful; Secrets of Rætikon is expected before the end of the year. There are various other rewards on offer, both digital and physical, right up to appearing in the game’s lore as a god.
Secrets of Rætikon is set in the same universe as Chasing Aurora; its first teaser trailer arrived in August.
