GTA5 is a wonderful game and achievment with it’s scope and variety. But in my book it’s not even close to a GOTY award.

BioShock Infinite for best visual design? What a joke.

At least PAYDAY 2 won rightfully.

This is horrible. Everything is wrong, people are awful.

Great to see Payday 2 getting some love. Mark my words, Payday 3 will be a mega-budget, balls-to-wall, AAA juggernaut. Love that franchise.

However, “Best Handheld Game: Assassin’s Creed 3: Liberation” – really?!?!

Shouldn’t a game that works get game of the year? LOL.

I’d better hide after that one. They’re going to come for me.

Holy shit, Fire Emblem didn’t win Hand Held? In fact, the best hand held was a game COMING TO CONSOLES LATER THIS YEAR?

    What a joke. It’s like nobody touched a 3DS.

Umm… there is more then 2 months from this year. why do this you fukin idiots? BF4, AC2353453, COD35363, just to name a few… P2 as best multigame? Come on…

@9: Pay Day 2 deserves that title. Granted it isn’t Planetside 2 (which also deserves a nod) but such awesome 4 player co-op with brutal difficulty and fantastic subtle stealth elements make for a very compelling game. Shouting at your mates while you view the guards in the camera is something truly special.

@3 How so ? I played it on PC and even first level looks absolutely amazing

@10 Ive got 35 hours in the game. Its ok, tho im chuckled at the “subtle stealth elements”.
BF4 is right around the corner. They gave it no chance? How could you say GOTY when the Y is not even over?
And im not a BF fan, I wont buy the game but still…

Payday 2 can be devilishly good. Upgrades are dumb, serverbrowser is dumb, it’s gonna get really dumb when the “stealth cops” show up, and it needs a ton of content drops.

But aside from that it’s really good.

I wish it did more to teach people how to play though. There’s a world of difference between the people who have a clue and the ones who don’t. I just don’t understand why so many coop games completely neglect to teach people what’s up.

You’d never make a singleplayer game without a cookie cutter tutorial, so why the hell not a coop game where the approach really matters?

Well deserved Hall of Fame award for CoD. Like it or loathe it, everyone knows it.

This is a complete joke….Assassin’s creed 3 Liberation?

Fire Emblem Awakening is soooo much better than Assassin’s Creed 3 Liberation.

These picks are laughable and bias.

The Last Of Us was fucking overrated in every aspect except the awards they gave them which is funny.
the story in the game was really good but beyond that every aspect of the gameplay was not done very well and it’s not because ND sucks or anything, It was not enough time to do it right. You can’t do a good game if you release ND game every year. You can’t and don’t start about 2 teams because that’s not true either. It’s just 1 team with half from another team made the game.
1.5-2 years for such gigantic game is not enough.

Hall of Fame: Activison: Call of Duty – L O L

@15, I don’t know if Fire Emblem deserve the award but it was 10000000 times better then Liberation POS and it was a GOOD GAME.

I’m not the only one saying these pics suck. Don’t single me out.

    @17

Legendary Dancer, please STFU, you’re the bias drone here.

    @19

There is no way that these picks will work with every single gamer out there.

Everyone has their favorite game and I don’t agree with some of them but it is what it is.

Called it. GTAV will win GotY awards from everyone who has a clue.

Last of Us as a close second, Bioshock Infinite at third.

Bias? In a public-voted awards event?

Well, yes. That’s kind of how these things work. Calling out bias here merely highlights your own.

That’s fine, but don’t single me out dude. Assassin’s Creed Liberation is ok, but best handheld game? We all know Fire Emblem deserves it more.

  24. Phoenixblight

Its public voted so maybe the problem is not enough people played it to which means not enough votes for it. THats what it comes down to. THe most popular games are right there at the top.

GOTY is almost always synchronous with big names and marketing monies. Not that GTA V ain’t GOTY material… but there’s a noticeable trend there, right?

Steam as best platform though, I totally agree. :]

I know it’s just my opinion, but Hotline Miami deserved to win best Indie game.
