Proteus arrives on PS3 and Vita next week

Proteus will be released on PS3 and PS Vita next week on October 29 in North America and in Europe and Australia October 30 through PlayStation Network. The exploration game was released earlier this year for PC. The game will be part of the Cross Buy system for the consoles and will contain the ability to generate in-game islands based on players’ real world locations. These will also effect Proteus’ environment. Brenna got her hands on it earlier this year and liked it very much. Thanks, Eurogamer.

Oooh. I liked this, but it’s hard to recommend because it’s… odd. I like it, and I enjoy walking around in it, but it’s more of a toy than a game. It’s this lovely little island someone built to play on.

If that intrigues you, though, then I heartily recommend it. Just don’t go into this expecting puzzles or guns, or a story beyond the one that crafts itself based upon the environment.

It’s like Windosill, really. I loved it, but… hard to say whether others will.
