Alien: Isolation stars Ripley’s daughter, going cross-gen in 2014 – rumour

Monday, 21st October 2013 23:58 GMT By Brenna Hillier

As we suspected when an Alien: Isolation trademark turned up overnight, it looks like the Creative Assembly’s Aliens project is finally coming to light.

According to an anonymous source speaking with Kotaku, Alien: Isolation is coming to current and next-gen consoles in 2014.

The project is in the works at Total War developer the Creative Assembly, and is a first-person shooter with stealth and horror elements.

The story concerns Amanda Ripley, daughter of Ellen Ripley, who apparently died while her mother was frozen in space, but has not yet been featured in any canonical Aliens franchise materials.

Most of the game is spent on a single space station, and there’s only one xenomporph for most of the way through; instead, Amanda has to face off against clones and soldiers. Heavily inspired by the first movie, the gameplay makes use of vents, lockers and melee weapons.

The source noted that Sega “took the critical reception to Aliens: Colonial Marines very seriously” and has delayed Isolation at least once, missing a planned E3 2013 reveal, in order to ensure the latest Aliens game will be up to quality.

Sega has not issued a response to the rumour.

Thanks, Gematsu.

Funny jokes aside they even delayed the announcement of a game because this time they are serious about developing good Aliens game.

But I can’t see how you can do a good game with current gen in mind. It’s a dead horse. Leave it ALONE.

    An Aliens-Game again?
How often do we have to go through this?
I was hyped for the last 598321 Games, but this time, even I have learned my lesson. This franchise will never have a really good game.

CA can’t even get their bread and butter right – so what chance do they have of making an FPS?

Sega will announce release date, game will be released ready or not, review scores will give it 8/9/10 – game will be more like Starship Troopers due to the amount of bugs.
