Mike Dailly, the DMA Design staffer who created both Grand Theft Auto and Lemmings, is rebuilding the first game’s map in full 3D using employer YoYo Games’s creation suite Game Maker Studio. Although the original game was a top-down 2D affair, USGamer reports it was constructed in 3D to show the height of buildings and features like bridges and tunnels, which makes the translation to HMTL5 and WebGL easier. The end result won’t be a playable game, although Dailly hasn’t decided what to do with his creation once finished. You can follow his progress on Twitter for updates and screenshots.
