PS Vita 2000 features a micro USB port that allows user to charge the device using smartphone cables. Sony Worldwide Studios president Shuhei Yoshida has posted a new photo of the device online.

It appeared on his Twitter feed yesterday:

Note the micro USB port at the bottom of the device. His text reads, “You’ll be glad: when using a PS Vita 2000, it can be charged [using a] smartphone Micro USB.”

PS Vita 2000 hasn’t been given a European release window but UK MD Fergal Gara >has recently asked us to ‘watch this space’. Tantalising.

Here’s a nice video comparison of both systems.

Also, you can’t use the internal 1gb storage along with a memory card too. Personally it’s more of a downgrade rather than a step forward. I want to get a blue 3G one from Japan/Asia region, I just hope they wont sell out pretty fast.

Smartphone chargers, does that make iphones non smartphones? I know the buyers aren’t.

OnT: Is there any way to calibrate the screens?

Well not all smartphone chargers are the same, it doesn’t say it works with ‘every’ charger ;)
